On the internet (how “inklings” will exist for me moving forward)…

Lately I have found myself exhausted by the cannibalistic recursiveness of the web 3.0 era internet. Popular social media platforms feed me more information than I can ever reasonably digest, the subsequent indigestion and malnutrition making me far less productive as a maker, and importantly less curious as a person. I want to explore and divulge my subjective experience of the world at my own pace and manner, rather than what is dictated by capricious algorithms. I want to contribute to the type of internet I’d like to be a part of. Slower, more thoughtful.

The website will be where I post my completed work, maintain my store for prints and original drawings, and host my blog. On the blog I will discuss everything from practice, to media I’ve been thinking about, upcoming events, to sharing little photos from my life. Everything IG and IG stories used to be for me, but without the constraint of brevity and performative productivity. I will be also be crossposting these blog posts to my Patreon as a way to further their reach (I’m trying out a lot of things at once to see what really gets me fired up) No promises on how this may eventually pan out, it might fail, but I want to at least try. Some topics I want to start with include: ITCH.IO and the many short games I’ve been playing of late, my favourite Video Essayists, how badly I want to play a FromSoftware-made visual novel, my current experiences of gender and how it ties into my understanding of existentialism, fun things I find on walks and in-depth discussions of my practice. Thanks so much for the continued support as I navigate a new journey forward.

Sincerely,

Artemisia
